New Year’s resolutions…big plans…big goals…
However, most people fall short of their resolutions, plans and goals for a few reasons: they fail to plan them; they don’t have any guidance, or they don’t have anyone holding them accountable. I will be the first to admit that sometimes I don’t reach all of my goals. The big reason that I fail is because I fail to write it down and hold myself accountable.
This year, my resolution is to correct that. I am going to share my goal with you, because I feel it is important that I lead by example. Now, my goal is not health related (I have been working on that for years and continue to accomplish those goals) but more of an everyday life goal. I recently purchased 21 acres in South Carolina. My goal is to have the land paid off for in 6-8 months. This is a rather large goal, but I am up to the task.
How will I accomplish my goal? I am glad you asked. By simply writing it down, like I am doing now, this is cementing what I MUST do. However, I will also write it down on my ‘2013 Goals to Accomplish’ list. This one is at the top. I know what I need to do to accomplish my #1 goal, but I know that I will, like most people, get lazy in the next 6-8 months and stop sticking to my plan. This is where having someone else to hold me accountable will help out.
Do you have someone to hold you accountable so you can achieve your 2013 goals? Have you shared with them how you are going to do that? If not, I would find a friend or a loved one and sit down and open up to them about your plans and ask for their help.
I would also encourage you to write you goals down and look at them every Monday morning when you wake up. Cement your goals in your mind. However, you MUST also have a plan to accomplish those goals. Do you? If not, now is the time to sit down and do it. Be as detailed as possible, the more details you have written down the more likely you are to stick to them. If the plan is vague, chances are…you WILL NOT meet your goals.
Are you ready to have a KICK BUTT 2013? If so, do you have the following figured out:
Goals
Your goals written down
Someone to hold you accountable to help you reach your goals
A plan of attack to accomplish those goals
Feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions on how I can help you with your 2013 goals. Heck, shoot me an e-mail to make sure I am sticking to my plan as well! We all need encouragement!
To a prosperous 2013!
